If you are a licensed electrician or an electrical contractor who has found this site, this page is the straight answer to the questions you are most likely to have: what we are, what we publish, whether you can buy anything from us, and whether there is a lead programme. The short version of the last one is: not yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

The status of matching, stated plainly
There is no contractor programme open today. No pricing, no contract, no territories, no lead fees, no minimum spend, no qualification process. Matching homeowners to local licensed electricians is something we are building and it is not operational.
We are stating that rather than running a sign-up funnel against it because the alternative — collecting registrations, and by implication expectations, for a service with no launch date — is the thing that makes contractors distrust this entire category. If and when it opens, the terms will be published on this page before anyone is asked to commit to them.

What you cannot buy here
The list below matters more to your competitors than to you, but you should know where the line is, because it tells you how to read everything else we publish.
- Placement, ranking or featured position. Not for sale at any price.
- Links. We do not sell, exchange or place links.
- Sponsored content, guest posts or press releases. We do not publish contributed content of any kind.
- Removal or softening of a finding. We do not accept payment to change what the research says.
- Reviews or ratings. We publish none, so there is nothing to influence.
There is no "best electricians" list on this site and there will not be one, because we hold no basis for ranking firms that would survive scrutiny. If you have been approached by someone claiming to sell a position on HyreElectrical, it is not us.
What we publish about this trade
We write for homeowners who are about to hire, and the editorial line is probably not what you would expect from a lead-generation site. We tell people that a licence is a floor rather than a recommendation. We tell them to get three quotes against one written scope. We tell them that a quote which omits the permit is not cheaper, it is a different job. We also tell them, on the generator page, that a standby unit is often a large purchase solving a small problem.
That is not hostility to the trade. An informed customer who understands why the panel has to be opened, why the permit exists and why the cheap bid was incomplete is a better customer to work for. The research is aimed at removing the arguments you should not have to keep having.
Everything is sourced to primary material with a retrieval date, and where we could not verify something we say so — including a state-by-state code adoption table we could not obtain and therefore do not publish. How all of that works is in the editorial policy.
Our records, and how to correct yours
Two separate datasets sit behind this site, and only one of them contains companies.
- A licensing authority review covering all 51 US jurisdictions — the official board for each state and DC, with its public search where one exists. It contains no company records.
- A contractor store of 16,369 electrical companies across 5 states (FL, UT, NV, CA, TX), built from official licensing sources and counted on 5 September 2026. 74% of it is Florida, which we disclose wherever it is used. It is research, not a directory, not a ranking and not published as a list of recommendations.
Records derived from public registers can be wrong or stale. If yours is, email hello@hyreelectrical.com with the company name, the licence number and what is incorrect. Because we derive from official sources, a mistake in the board’s own record is the durable problem — correcting it there is the fix, and we will re-derive from it. If you would rather we did not hold your company’s record at all, say so and we will discuss it.
If you think something we published is wrong
Tell us. We correct in place, on the page that was wrong, noting what changed and when, and several pages already carry correction notes. A working electrician spotting an error in how we have described a code requirement, a permit process or a piece of equipment is genuinely useful to us, and we would rather be corrected than right-sounding.
What we will not do is remove an accurate finding because it is inconvenient, or soften sourced guidance because it makes a sale harder. Send corrections to hello@hyreelectrical.com with the page address and, if you have one, the source.
Where these figures come from
The jurisdiction and company counts above are from HyreElectrical’s own research: a review of the official electrical licensing authority in all 51 US jurisdictions, and a contractor store built from official state licensing sources, both retrieved and counted on 5 September 2026. You are welcome to cite or link to anything we publish, in a proposal, a quote, a customer explainer or your own site. A link back is appreciated and not required. If you need the underlying figures or the method behind a calculation we have labelled as ours, ask and we will send it — the method is the point, and research nobody can check is not worth much.
